Journal from the MIT press that attempts to link social relations to the configurations of a meal.
Areas explored included comparing a meal (social order) to drinks (absence of social order), the hierarchy of a meal (starters, mains, desserts) compared to the social hierarchy. And how the the meal is adapted to fit the circle of a given culture. She also explored the close connection of rituals and human/animal relations in Hebrew dietary laws - how the social hierarchy of humans in a given culture can also be compared to the animals permitted in their meals/diet.
