"I want to believe in the connections between people, and the ability of people to deal with each other as humanely as possible. Bringing people together to eat a meal can bridge vast differences--when cultural and religious values are literally consumed in an atmosphere of mutual nourishment, people can appreciate quite viscerally what they have in common."
I rather enjoy this idea of having food to break down invisible walls. I mean, everyone appreciates food.
